As we know lots of people visit Costa Rica’s tropical beaches because of their natural and cultural wealth surrounded by white sand shores and due to the wide range of activities which suits to all kind of interests.  In our earlier topic we compiled a list with the most popular beach resorts on the North Pacific and Central Pacific area. Because there are an abundance of the beaches,we continue our topic with the most visited beaches on the South and Caribbean region of Costa Rica, you might find your favorite in this list. So take a look at them!

South pacific beaches

 Corcovado National Park


Playa Dominical: being an authentic beach town it hosts an abundance of bars, hotels, hostels and restaurants. Together with the Puerto Jimenze Beach resort they are family oriented beaches, with distinctive pools designed for kids.
Corcovado: Palms, dark sands jungles and Corcovado national park are all given for a delightful holiday on the beaches of Corcovado. Once you are there, take part into a boat excursion to Isla Del Caño, where you can explore the ancient stone spheres.
South of Limon  is perfect for backpackers due to the Cahuita National Park which provide great campgrounds for the tourists.

Caribbean Beaches

Tortuguero National Park Costa Rica


Without any further ado the Caribbean beaches are the most popular ones in Costa Rica. There are plenty of opportunities for getting around. The easiest way to get around is, if you rent a bike and explore the outstanding landscape of the country. The area has a huge variety of beaches lagoons and marshes in the North and great surfing beaches in South.
Puerto Viejo consist a variety of beaches with very affordable water sport activities. However the area also satisfies every tourist’s interests because it has some private beaches as well. Limon is the primary tourist center because of its multicolor sanded beaches.
Cahuita National Park beaches: it is a free entry beach where you can enjoy the palm shores. It is a perfect place for snorkeling. The beaches of Puerto Viejo are bordered by the Talamanca Mountain where you can meet with the indigenous Bri Bri tribe.
Playa Manzanillo is widely visited by the tourists because of the Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge. The area is popular because is home for manatees, dolphins, and several species of sea turtles nest on the beaches from February through May. So dolphin watching, snorkeling, scuba diving are just a few activities at your hand.
Tortuguero: as a visitor you can take part in all of the exotic attractions offered by Costa Rica: you can join to a tour down on the jungle canals, try hiking or take part into guided safaris. The beach takes its name from the green sea turtle which belongs to the specialties of the area. The Tortuguero National Park is also very popular because is home for species which are endangered from extinction. Some of them are: ocelots, tapirs and manatees. Its also famous for tarpon fishing.
